Kounoupidiana

Kounoupidiana is a small town at Akrotiri of Chania. It is located in the northeast of the city of Chania, within walking distance and close to the airport and the port of Souda. In the widest region of Kounoupidiana, there are also the facilities of the Cretan Polytechnic.

The seaside village of Kalathas, the tourist Stavros, Kabani and the Horafakia frame Kounoupidiana, which is the largest residential downtown area, with about 3,500 residents.

Kounoupidiana is built to the south of Akrotiri, close to all the beaches of the area, from the bay of Kalathas to the beaches of Marathi and Stavros beach which is further north.

The small town has the entire necessary infrastructure to serve locals and visitors, as well as holiday accommodation for those who want to make Kounoupidiana their holiday base in Chania. It is considered that all the settlements in the region around Kounoupidiana have special interest residential and architectural terms, as they have monumental buildings and many modern.
