Potamos

Potamos beach in Gavdos is located on the northeastern side of the island, at the point that faces Gavdopoula. It is formed at the end of a gorge, surrounded by a lush landscape of red rocks and argillaceous rocks.

Potamos beach is sandy and very rich in clay, so it is perfectly suitable for mud therapy. Just wet the sand and spread it on your body, wait until it gets dry in order to absorb the beneficial for the skin ingredients and then wash it off in the sea.

The few trees will provide shade and will be your refuge if you want to camp here. You will get to Potamos by following the dirt road from Ampelos (which stops about 500 meters away) or the footpath. The hike takes about two hours but you will pass through the abandoned settlements of Ampelos and Neveli, and the view of Potamos will reward you!

Before you get to Potamos, be sure that you have with you anything you may need!
