Corfu - Museums
On the island of Corfu you will find remarkable Museums, some of which are unique to Greece, where relics and findings from all the historical periods that have left their mark on the island are saved and presented. In the Archaeological Museum you will see findings from excavations on the island, with the most significant being the pediment of the Temple of Artemis Gorgon which was found in Palaiopoli. In the Mon Repos estate it is worth visiting the Museum of Palaiopoli which is housed in the mansion that was the residence of the English Commissioner and summer residence of the former Royal Family. The Antivouniotissa Museum is housed in the homonymous church in Mouragia, with numerous Byzantine and ecclesiastical relics. Corfu has an incredible Museum of Asian Art that is housed in the Palace of St. Michael and St. George, as well as a unique in all of Greece Banknote Museum in the center of the Old City.
Do not forget to visit the Solomos Museum, operating in the house that the National poet of Greece lived, as well as the Kapodistrias Museum in the village Evropouloi which was the summer house of the family of the first Governor of Greece.
