Philharmonic of Kontokali

The Philharmonic of Kontokali began in 1990 as a children’s choir in the village of Kontokali, it evolved into a children’s band, in order to end up as a Philharmonic in 1995. Its first public appearance was during the procession of the Epitaph of the church of the village. It participates in all the local, cultural and religious events not only in the region of Kontokali. It also performs concerts in the city of Corfu. In its classes free lessons are taught: the theory of music, wooden, brass, percussion instruments, while it also has a students’ band which, is comprised of about 35 young musicians. The Philharmonic of Kontokali is housed, since its foundation, in the Spiritual Center of the Parish of Agia Triada.
