Sellia

The village belongs to the municipality of Apokoronas in Chania and it is built at an altitude of 320 meters above sea level with approximately 40 residents. It is only 5 km from the village of Vamos, and at a very close distance there is Kefalas, with its widely known beaches as well as the tourist resort of Georgioupolis.

What actually makes the difference at this village, is the church which is dedicated to the Holy Spirit and built in the early 19th century.

The houses are built in traditionally, with stone made walls and tile roofs. The streets of the village are narrow and stone mad as well. In the streets you will certainly see the cisterns, the traditional tanks to collect rainwater.

From Sellia, you can easily tour around all the villages of Vamos, even in the south part of Chania as well as in Sfakia, thanks to the immediate road access. Meanwhile, the unique beauty of the area and all attractions existing are truly inexhaustible.
