Pyrgi

Pyrgi is an old fishing village which has turned into a busy holiday resort in the north-eastern coast of Corfu. It is 17 kilometers away from the city and its sandy shore is a natural continuation of the beach of Ypsos. This seaside settlement shows continuous growth with lodgings, shops, restaurants and taverns, along the main road above the beach, as well as in the inland, in the verdant Corfiot countryside.

The beach in Pyrgi is organized, suitable for sea sports and attracts many visitors every year. The region, especially Ypsos, is particularly popular amongst the young as it has intense nightlife and many bars which operate until the first hours of the morning.

From Pyrgi you can visit the picturesque village of Agios Markos  which is located on a verdant hill and belongs to the preserved areas of the Ministry of Culture because of its long history and its distinctive, Venetian architecture. From Pyrgi you can also go for swim in Barbati beach, with its big, white pebbles and deep waters.
