Central Public Library of Kalamata
The newly established Central Public Library operates in Kalamata city since October 2004, having cultural, educational, cultural and informational purposes. It has already about 11,700 titles, covering topics of medicine, psychology, children’s literature, social sciences, computer etc. It has also encyclopedias, dictionaries, art books, educational and religious books.
The material of the Central Public Library of Kalamata is available either for borrowing or reading while on its premises there is a children’s section which is equipped with the necessary furniture (chairs, work desks, filing cabinets) with bright colors and fabrics, specially designed for children to attract younger readers. The Central Public Library Kalamata has purchased a mobile unit which carries out visits to schools especially of the most remoted areas.
On the Library they organize presentations of books, programs and activities specifically designed for children. The Central Public Library of Kalamata is located on the 4th floor of the Cultural Center of Kalamata , while in the same building you can visit the Folk Library of Kalamata, one of the most important and largest in the Greek region.
