Small Church of Great Archangels
Τhe small church of the Great Archangels is four kilometers away from the city of Kalamata and at small distance from the highway Kalamata – Athens.
The small church of Great Archangels, which celebrates on November 8th, is an aisle church with sannctuary of polygonal apse, while there is a bell tower at the northwestern side.
Chronologically, the construction of small church of the Great Archangels is placed in the 19th century and with its decoration and morphology, it is one of the most interesting examples of neoclassical architecture in the region of Kalamata.
The frescoes inside the small church of Great Archangels, besides the altar, reach to the level of the false ceiling.
To the south of the small church of the Great Archangels, which was restored by the Archaeological Service after the damages, a modern and newer Church was built for the believers.
