Housed in a building of Anagnostakis family, which was donated to the community of Roustika by the poet himself, the Cultural Center Anestis and Manolis Anagnostakis displays collections of his life and work.
Manolis Anagnostakis was born in Thessaloniki in 1925, hailing from Roustika in Rethymno prefecture, which was the birthplace of father. He was one of the leading poets of the first postwar generation. Manolis Anagnostakis studied medicine and specialized as a radiologist in Vienna. His poetic work defined the group of poets of postwar poetry and his works were set to music by Mikis Theodorakis and other Greek composers and also translated into foreign languages. He died in 2005.
