Lefki
The houses of the 56 residents of Lefki are built on the west side of Niritos, between the shores of Ithaca and Kefalonia and among the tall olives trees and cypresses.
At the square of the village there are two huge pine trees that offer great shade and a fantastic view towards the strait of Kefalonia and the small islet of Asteris.
The sunset of Lefki is something unique: the sun is setting behind Erisos, the western peninsula of Kefalonia, painting the coasts with unique colors…
The cobbled paths of Lefki, forming beautiful trails through the vegetation, are lined with oaks and cypresses and you will find several wells on your way to some of the remote beaches of the area, with their crystal clear waters: Ammoudaki, the Sand of Kolomiris, Kaminia, Vromoneri, Koutoupi, Megaloni, Fokotripa and Mirtera, are some of the beaches of Lefki, with deep blue waters and white pebbles.
On the way from Lefki to the small village of St. John, located to the southeast and towards the sea, is one of the most famous beaches of Ithaca, the beautiful Aspros Gialos.
In the narrow streets of Lefki is the church of Panagia Lefkisana, that celebrates on Nov. 21st the Presentation of Mary.
