Abela

Immediately after Megas Gialos of Syros is a small, quiet and secluded beach Abela aat a distance of about 12.5km from Ermoupoli.

In Abela one arrives either by foot from the beach of Megas Gialos or by car / engine. In the first case it is sufficient to follow one path behind Agios Antonios is located on the edge of the beach of Megas Gialos while in the second is sufficient to move to Posidonia and about one kilometer after the village of Megas Gialos turn left and in about one kilometer will meet the parking place for Abela.

The beach Abela is well protected from the northerly and, hence, the summer winds, has a sandy beach with clear waters and golden sand with pebbles. It has some – few – umbrellas but also armirikia for those seeking a little shade.

The small settlement above Abela offers some solutions for food or coffee if you do not want to return to the larger village of Megas Gialos.
