Agios Antonios
The Church of Agios Antonios is located in the seaside resort of Megas Gialos in Syros, 12 km from Ermoupoli, in the southern part of the island. On the right side of the bay, over the small pier and a few meters from the sea, dominates the newly built church that was inaugurated in 2011.
The Church of Agios Antonios, outside is painted with traditional Aegean colors, white and blue. The rhythm that is built is cruciform with a dome. Inside the church has a light coming from the windows of the dome. The hagiography is simple.
On 17th of January that celebrates the church of Agios Antonios takes place a great litany on the coastal road of the village and the festival in which is offered to thevisitors bean soup and wine.
Behind St. Anthony starts and the path leading to the cove of Ampelas, where there is a small and quiet beach.
