Alithini

It is the village where – like many agree – the visitor can admire the most beautiful view of the island: the capital Ermoypoli, Ano Syros, Didimi islet on which stands the lighthouse… But further back, when the atmosphere allows it, from Alithini one can see Tinos and Mykonos, Naxos, Paros and numerous smaller islands among them.

Alithini is a traditional village of Syros, built on the slope of one of the hills in the center of the island, at an altitude of 190 meters. It has about 80 permanent residents and belongs to Municipality of Ano Syros, one of the three in the united municipality of Syros.

The picturesque houses of Alithini one can approach them by following the road to the village of Kini, from Ermoypoli. The intersection for Alithini is uphill but short and the route will compensate you, as already the view is fantastic.

Very close to Alithini is the church of Agia Paraskevi.
