Fokiotrypes

In the southeast of Ermoupoli in Syros and near the beach Santorinioi, lies the isolated beach Fokiotrypes.

Fokiotrypes took their name from the fact that in the area has seen observed visits from seals that nest on the cliffs.

Isolated rocky beach, completely unorganized, without infrastructure, Fokiotrypes addressed to visitors seeking a completely remote beach with clear blue waters. The beach is “naked”, without armirikia and full of pebbles.

To reach to Fokiotrypes must go to Azolimnos from the road Ermoupoli – Vari. Then, after reaching first on the beach of Azolimnos, will take the path through which about 15-20 minutes are situated Fokiotrypes.

Opposite of Fokiotrypes is Aspronisi, one of the dozens of islets that “crown” Syros.

Apart from the seals, in Fokiotrypes and Aspronisi may encounter cormorants – the locals call them kalikatsoudes – gulls and mauropetrites.
