Vissa

Vissa is one of the villages in inland of Syros, of those which are not tourist. Most of the nearly two hundred residents of Vissa are engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry, as the village is situated in the most fertile part of the island, the south.

Located approximately eight kilometers to the southwest of the capital of Syros, Ermoupoli, the road descends to Vissa. Already by this point, we meet the greenhouses and the flocks of the villagers, in a green landscape with much dense vegetation.

The village of Vissa is referred quite frequently and the male “Vissas” and belongs to the municipal section of Posidonia, in the united municipality of Syros. It is situated among the green village of Parakopi, Posidonia and the Phoenix, of which is essentially a settlement.
