The village Temenia is 62 km from the city of Paleochora. It is one of the most mountainous villages of the county, at an altitude of 700-1100 meters. Temenia consist of three neighborhoods: Central, called Tzanoudiana and has the most numerous inhabitants, Mesa Village, where there is a source and a guest house with tavern and Lazopouliana. Two miles outside Temenia, there are the ruins of the Minoan city Yrtakina, which was built at an altitude of 900 meters above the sea.
