Big clubs, nightclubs and music stages, atmospheric bars, traditional cafes (kafeneia) and trendy cafes: what you have to do to have fun in Chania is very simple, you just choose whatever suits your idea for fun.

In the old port beats the heart of the entertainment district, especially on summer evenings. If not on the beach, that is full of coffee bars, then in the narrow streets of the old town you will find atmospheric bars, that combine light food with loud music, and often live bands, playing traditional Cretan music, turning a night of relaxed fun into a full-blown feast. The big clubs of Chania are almost lined in a row in Platanias, a resort located about ten kilometers away from the town of Chania.

The numerous beach bars on the beaches of Chania will provide you with your morning coffee, the necessary snack in case you get hungry, and will take care of your entertainment until late at night. One of the biggest beach parties in Crete, in Falassarna, that takes place in the first days of August, has become in the last few years quite famous.

All the touristic resorts of Chania however, have their own "hub" of fun, with cafes and bars, while it is certain that at some point during the day (or night ...) you will hear traditional music played by the Cretan Lyra!
