Vrachinari beach

Just 8 km from Lixouri, Kefalonia, you will find Vrachinari beach or Akrotiri, which is the natural extension of Vatsa beach.

In the region of Paliki, in one of the most virgin parts of the island, unfolds Vrachinari beach – an ideal place to relax, with golden sands and crystal clear waters, facing the western Ionian Sea.

Vrachinari beach is organized, with sunbeds and umbrellas, but it does not get too crowded during the summer, allowing visitors to swim along the coast, exploring its rich seabed. The cavities of the rocks create natural small containers, the libes as they are called by the locals, where seawater is gathered and collected to be used in the traditional Kefalonian riganada (dish made with bread, tomatoes and feta cheese).

Just a few meters from Vrachinari beach you will find three taverns, and if you do not want to leave the quiet shore, you can visit the canteen that stands on the beach and offers rich local products.

Do not miss a chance to enjoy the sunset from the top of Enos, with the sun plunging into the waters of Vrachinari beach.
