Chrysi Akti

Chrysi Akti beach or else Divari, in western Messinia, is located just 10 minutes away from Pylos. It is a stunning beach of 4 kilometers that reaches up to Paleocastro. It is covered with fine sand and offers the ultimate view of the Bay of Navarino, Pylos and the island of Sfaktiria. The waters are crystal clear and turquoise allowing you to see deep in the sandy bottom.

Chrysi Akti beach is a protected area and oasis of tranquility as it is not organized with sun beds, parasols, beach bars. During summer, it is very likely to come across caretta-caretta turtles that come ashore to spawn. Just before Chrysi Akti you will find a campsite.

If you cross with caution the thorny bushes covering the dunes, you can head to the lagoon of Gialova, to admire the breathtaking scenery of the most important wetland in southern Greece, which has rare migratory birds and other rare species.

To reach Chrysi Akti, starting from Pylos, follow the road to Gialova and after passing through the village, follow the signs to Chrysi Akti beach. After passing through a quiet, full of reeds and trees road, you will see on your left the beautiful beach and on your right, you will see through bushes and reeds the lagoon.
