Polylimnio
Polylimnio is an earthly paradise in Messinia, near the village Charavgi and is 33 km away from the city of Kalamata. Υou will see there lakes and waterfalls on many levels with water passing through the Gorge of Polylimnio.
The lakes were until recently well hidden from visitors, but now the area has been exploited and has two parking spaces for those who want to see Polylimnio closely.
Visitors in Polylimnio will meet on a path of three kilometers 15 consecutive lakes with strange names ( Kadoula, Mavrolimna, Tou Tucherou, Tou Italou, Tou Panagou, Stathoula and others) and of course you can swim in the clear water. The waterfall of Kadi falls there from a height of 25 meters.
The lakes in Polylimnio constitute a natural and unique biotope of great beauty. Many insects such as butterflies, lepidoptera and mosquitoes are food for a variety of insectivorous birds, which find a safe shelter in the thick bushes and the foliage of trees.
You will also see small fish, black freshwater crabs, amphibians, reptiles and small mammals in the lakes of Polylimnio.
