Agia Triada of Rethymno

The Agia Triada of Rethymno is a village near Mesi, 11 km southeast of the city of Rethymno on the road towards the Arkadi monastery.

In an area full of olive trees and orchards, Agia Triada of Rethymno is a small village with spectacular view at the opposite hill, where the old village of Santa Trinita is located, as it was called by the Venetians.

In the middle of the village, with its population not exceeding 50 residents, there is the Byzantine church that gave its name to this area. Apart from the church, the visitor’s attention is also attracted by the Venetian buildings along the narrow alleys. The residence of the during the Ottoman rule landlord, Aga Albanis, is one of the important monuments of the village.

The picturesque and quiet village, which had a great oil production as evidenced by the numerous mills, is situated at an altitude of 180 meters, with spectacular panoramic view. A big advantage of the Agia Triada of Rethymno is that, although it is built on the mountain, it is not far away from the most magnificent beaches of the county, such as the Adele beach located within 3 km.

The Agia Triada of Rethymno is an ideal place for relaxation, away from the busy and stressful everyday life, and offers hotels, villas and apartments, as well as traditional taverns and cafes.
