Drymiskianos

Drymiskianos beachfront is located 38 km to the south of Rethymno and 15 km to the east of Plakias, right next to the village Drymiskos of Rethymno prefecture.

Drymiskianos beach or else known as Drymiskiano Ammoudi or Agios Savvas, lies to the west and can be found outside the exit of almost unknown Chelidonion gorge.

Drymiskianos is a very quiet beach and not very organized. More than 3 km in length, it consists of lots of small bays with sand and pebbles. The part that lies in the middle of Drymiskianos beach is called Kefala, while the eastern part is called Eastern.

Drymiskianos beach offers some umbrellas and a lot of tamarisks for shade. There are some taverns and a mini-market, where you can also rent a room.

If you want to isolate yourself from the crowd, you can walk along Drymiskianos towards the east or follow the dirt-road that leads to Ammoudi till the Gyalopotamos beach.

Lake Preveli can be reached by the path that begins at the Drymiskianos beach.

Drymiskianos beach can be also easily reached by car driving towards Preveli.
