Lychnistis

Lychnistis beach is located 60 km to the south of Rethymno and 3 km to the west of Agia Galini of Rethymno prefecture.

The name of the Lychnistis beach originates from the fact that in the past there was a lot of winnowing in this area (lichnizo = winnow).

Lychnistis is an eastern from the two beaches that consist the Agios Georgios settlement. It is covered by fine pebbles and is washed by clear waters.

Unlike Kolympistiri, on Lychnistis you will find taverns, rooms-to-let and rented sunbeds and umbrellas.

Lychnistis can be easily reached from Agia Galini by boat.
