Right next to Plakias beach , approximately 45 km from the Rethymno city and 2 km from Rodakino village of Rethymno prefecture , there is Paligkremnos beach.
Paligkremnos or else known Gonates, is a sandy beach, very well organized and with crystal clear waters.
When it is a full moon, big octopuses emerge from the sea to the Paligkremnos beach and the locals gather them with long sticks.
This part of the Paligkremnos beach is commonly preferred by the nudists.
Following the east direction, nearby Paligremnos, the Peiratiko Fiord beach lies.
