Panormos Beaches

In front of the homonym village, there are the Panormos beaches that lie approximately 20 km to the east from Rethymno city and near Mylopotamos of Rethymno prefecture.

Panormos beaches are almost the only beaches along the northern coastline of Rethymno, where you can enjoy the sea even during the windy season, because they are comprised of small bays. Their waters are shallow, making the beaches ideal choice for families with small children. Some of them are less or even not organized, suggested to those who prefer some privacy during their vacation.

There two beaches that comprise the Panormos beaches. Limanaki beach is the village’s harbor and is excellently organized. Right next to it, to the east, there is a smaller one, which is not organized at all. The second, the west beach is called Limni and lies 200 meters to the west of the village. Like Limanakia, it is sandy, organized and protected by a pier on its west side. Even more to the west, there is a small pebbled bay perfectly suitable for isolated underwater exploration.

Apart from swimming, Panormos beaches can offer you hotels, rooms-to-let, water sports and a lot of taverns by the sea for you to enjoy.

To the east of Panormos beaches, in approximately 10 km you will reach the Bali beaches.
