Petres beach

The Petres beach belongs to the Rethymno prefecture  and lies on the eastern side of the huge seacoast of Georgioupolis in approximately 12 km from the Rethymno city.

 The Petres beach is located near the exit of the magnificent Petre gorge, which it was named after.

The Petres beach consists of few small bays, which are rocky and ideal for fishing and snorkeling. Moreover, strong northern winds usually blow in the area creating a lot of waves.

There are some umbrellas in the major sandy bay of the Petres beach, which lies on the north side of the beach.

There are enough facilities around Petres, such as rooms-to-let, taverns and a diving center for the  water sports lovers.
