Wax Figures Museum in Zoniana

The Wax Figures Museum in Zoniana is located in the central square of the homonymous village in Rethymno prefecture, just 50 kilometers east of the city of Rethymno.

With the creation and the inspiration of Dionysis Potamianos, the Wax Figures Museum in Zoniana opened its doors in the 1990s and included 87 wax figures in natural size that represented scenes from the rich history of Crete during various periods. The exhibits are displayed according to the historical period covered.

In the Museum of Wax Figures of Zoniana visitors have the opportunity to watch installations with Eleftherios Venizelos, Arkadi, Vitsentzos Kornaros, El Greco, Nikiforos Fokas, Nikos Kazantzakis and many other important personalities of Cretan folklore and history in a specially designed area of about 1,000 square meters decorated accordingly.
