Exopolis

Exopolis is a village of the municipality of Apokoronas with almost 70 permanent residents and it is located in the east of Chania. More precisely, the village is 33 kilometers from Chania on the provincial road that connects Vamos with Georgioupolis. Due to the fact that Exopolis is built on the mountainside, visitors have an endless view in front of their eyes. They can see the bay and the port of Georgioupolis, where Almiros River flows into.

At Exopolis visitors can find taverns, restaurants, cafes and several rooms for accommodation, as there are many who prefer the charm and the beauty of the area. The endless groves of Cretan land and the lush vegetation of the area, give a unique color, compared to the other villages of Chania. Exopolis is an ideal place for those who prefer quiet and relaxing holidays, because two wonderful beaches of Georgioupolis and Vamos, a village that has many shops and tourist services, are at a very close distance.

The main temple of Exopolis is devoted to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and to St. Demetrius and it was built in the late 19th century.
