Gerani

Gerani is a small coastal village, located 13 km west of Chania. It is a settlement that extends from the bridge of Platanias to the settlement of Pyrgos Psilonerou. Gerani spread in an extended landscape of outstanding beauty with woodlands, orchards, olive and orange groves.

The residents of the village are mainly occupied in the production of oil and citrus, while the village constitutes one of the tourist resorts in the area, with tourist accommodation facilities and developed infrastructure, suitable for the visitors’ needs.  During the summer season, Gerani is full of tourists wishing to spend a relaxing day in nature.

Gerani is the largest in size and population district of the municipality of Platanias and it consists of two settlements, the Old Gerani and Loutraki.

The coast at Gerani, is two and a half kilometers long and it consists of beautiful sandy beaches with trees, which are perfectly suitable for swimming.
