Kolimvari Beach

Kolimvari Beach is the huge sandy beach in front of the homonymous village located 24 km west of Chania.

Kolimvari beach is organized and stretches for several kilometers. It has deep wavy waters, as almost all the beaches of northern Crete. Although the coast is mostly sandy, in some places you will find small pebbles. On Kolimvari beach you will enjoy crystal clear waters, where you can play and sunbathe under the magnificent view of the green cliffs.

Next to the coast you will find a wide variety of accommodation facilities, restaurants and entertainment. A path with pebbles leads to traditional taverns, while there are also some beautiful stone cafes.

If you want a quieter beach, you can find isolation in one of the bays of the Monastery of Odigitria, northwest of Kolimvari beach.

Kolimvari is well known for the Orthodox Academy of Crete and the Monastery of Gonia, dating from 1662.
