Museum of Contemporary Art “Olivepress”

The Museum of Contemporary Art “Olivepress” is located in Dromonero in Chania and operates on the location of an old oil mill of the Rural Association of Zympragos, which ceased its operations in 1980.

The Museum of Contemporary Art “Olivepress” aims at the housing, conservation, preservation, presentation and promotion of the permanent collections which consist of more than 250 works of art from an equal number of artists from Greece and abroad.

In the Museum of Contemporary Art “Olivepress” you will see paintings, sculptures, printmaking, ceramics, photography, video art, constructions, installations and films and videos.

This is a collection created from the kind offerings of artworks by their creators, but also from donors, collectors, municipalities and contributions made by the members of the Club of Friends of the Olive Mill.

Among the artists whose works are exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art “Olivepress” are: Dimitris Antonitsis, Maria Kokini, Ioannis Lassithiotakis, Christos Bokoros, Elias Papailiakis, Antonia Papatzanaki, Constantinos Xenakis, Christos Tsoublekas, Achilleas Fakiolas, Angelos Antonopoulos, Vasso Katraki etc.

The Museum of Contemporary Art “Olivepress” organizes also educational programs.
