Xamoudochori

Xamoudochori is a semi mountainous settlement of Chania, with stunning view towards the coastline of Platanias. It is 19 km away from the center of Chania, built at an altitude of 110 meters. The 150 permanent inhabitants are mainly occupied in the cultivation of olive trees and vineyards.

The traditional cafe in the center of Xamoudohori is waiting to refresh you with local beverages and traditional Cretan raki.

At the hills of the village with the view towards the endless olive groves and vineyards in the area and while looking the bay of Chania and the Cape of Spatha, you will see the first tourist accommodation of the area emerging. The facilities are able to accommodate the visitors who double the population of Xamoudochori during the summer season.

The central church of the village at Xamoudochori is the church of St. Ioannis Chrisostomos, which is celebrated on November 13.

Shortly after the settlement of Xamoudochori, we meet the beautiful village of Kiparissi, another hilly village of Platanias.
