Kompothekrata

Kompothekrata is a lowland village of Kefalonia and is just 6 km from the island’s capital, Argostoli. It has about 230 inhabitants and its location is nestled between the villages of Argostoli and area Livatho. Around Kompothekrata are the villages Kokolata, Minies, Lakithra and Castle.

From Kompothekrata, you will enjoy panoramic view over the bay of Argostoli, and the medieval Castle of St. George, built by the Venetian conquerors to establish there the island’s capital. And so it was, until 1757, when the capital was moved to Argostoli. At Castle, which today is no longer a village in Livatho is reserved the Venetian walls, and various buildings of the period, as the church of the Annunciation.

The Kompothekrata is a calm and quiet village, whose needs are served by the neighboring capital. Nevertheless, you will find here various tourist accommodations, and parcels with outstanding view offered for sale.
