Afrata

Afrata beach is just one kilometer away from the homonymous village, three and a half kilometers from the Kolympari and 28 kilometers west of the city of Chania, at Cape of Rodopos.

Afrata beach is protected from the wind and has pebbles, umbrellas and trees. The lush landscape of Cape of Rodopos, the tranquil turquoise waters and the beauty of the village will give you the impression of being in paradise!

Afrata is preferred by the locals for swimming. Although there are not many facilities, you can buy the necessities in a small canteen standing on the coast. In Afrata you will find umbrellas and small trees.

A narrow paved road from Kolympari leads to Afrata beach. After the village, the road to the beach passes through a beautiful gorge with aromatic plants and ends in the small bay.

On the way to Afrata you pass by the historic monastery of Panagia Odigitria (Gonia) and the famous cave Ellinospilios.
