Kalamitsi Alexander

Kalamitsi Alexander is a small quiet village of Chania, built at an altitude of 139 meters in the municipality of Apokorona, which is 34 km from the city of Chania.

Kalamitsi Alexander has about 80 permanent residents and is an ideal place to relax. It is located very close to the cosmopolitan Georgioupoli – just seven kilometers – and its beaches but it is also close to Vamos and Vrises and that’s why you should not miss the opportunity to visit these villages.

At the entrance of Kalamitsi Alexander, you will see the picturesque stone church of St. George. The Holy Trinity is the central church of the village and is built from the Venetian period.

In the square of Kalamitsi Alexander is the central well of the village, which has still water and a traditional café where you can relax and of course eat.

In Kalamitsi Alexander, you will see the elementary school, which does not work anymore, but is characterized, as a preserved monument.
