Tersanas

The beach of Tersanas is formed in a natural port on the western side of the village of Akrotiri and just 13 km away from the city of Chania.

The small sandy beach of Tersanas with its shallow blue waters is equipped with sun beds, umbrellas and showers. It is ideal for families with children and especially at weekends it is very crowded.

In the village near the beach of Tersanas you will find some restaurants and cafes.

Next to the beach of Tersanas there are two more excellent beaches. The first one, which is also sandy – Kalathas – is located three kilometers to the south. The second is Stavros beach with golden sand and turquoise waters located four kilometers to the north.

If you stay on the beach of Tersanas you can visit the great monasteries and churches of the peninsula of Akrotiri, the so-called “Agion oros (Holy Mountain) of Crete”.
