Vrysi and Limani

Arriving in Sfakia you will find two beaches that will make you want to stay for ever! The smaller one is the Limani – the port of the seaside village. The beach has small pebbles and crystal clear waters while just above it there are taverns where you can taste traditional recipes and fresh fish.

The second beach, called Vrysi, is covered with white pebbles and is located to the west. It is bigger and better organized. There you can also find umbrellas and sun beds.

Chora is the village that is the seat of the municipality of Sfakia. It is located in southern Crete and is 75 kilometers away from the city of Chania. It is situated in a very inaccessible and rugged area surrounded by the steep slopes of the White Mountains and the numerous gorges formed therein.

There are daily ferries from the port to the island of Gavdos and to Agia Roumeli, which is the village where the Samaria Gorge, the longest gorge in Greece, ends.
