Conservatory of Corfu

The Conservatory of Corfu is the second oldest conservatory in Greece after the Conservatory of Athens. It was founded in 1894 with the name «Singing Society of Corfu» with the purpose of musical learning and development and especially phonetics. Founder and first professor of the Observatory was the musician Michael Mastoras. These departments operate in the Conservatory of Corfu: preschool musical education, theory of music and composition, stringed instruments, wind instruments, piano, classical guitar, rhythmic and electric guitar, harmonium and accordion, classical and modern music, choir conducting, Byzantine music, traditional music, jazz guitar and a children’s choir.
