Golf

The Golf course of Corfu can be found in the center of the island in Livadi Ropa and is characterized by many as one of the most beautiful in Europe. It opened in 1973 and it was designed by a Swiss architect, Donald Harradine. It is an ideal establishment with lakes, creeks, and trees, surrounded by verdant hills.

The Golf course occupies an area of 668 acres and has 18 holes. It provides vestiaries for women and men, with lockers for the safekeeping of the players’ golf bags, showers, shop for renting gear, possibility of taking golf lessons and a lovely stone-built restaurant which blends in with the natural surroundings.

Celebrities of English television, cinema, English football, Greek and national politics have enjoyed some rounds in the golf course of Corfu.

Golf has lent glamor and fame to the island as it attracts wealthy tourists who give the island profits in all aspects of the tourism industry (hotels, restaurants etc.), prolonging the tourism period from April to October. The golf course is open 7 days a week.
