Kamara

The village of Kamara in Middle Corfu is a small, traditional village built at the foot of the mountain of Agioi Deka . It has many old houses, mansions with yards exterior stairways and arches but, also some very interesting chapels such as Agios Vlasios and the chapel of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel of the Byzantine era with beautiful and very old murals from the 12th to the 17th century.

In Kamara village there is a small stone-built path, one of the few left on the island which begins from the square and ends up high in the Monastery of Agioi Theodoroi  dating back to the 16th century. From this point in Kamara you will enjoy a wonderful view of the south-western part of Corfu and Ai Gordis beach . If you are there late in the afternoon, you will enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets.

Kamara and the old path are the center of attention for nature lovers and for those who like to walk, as it is not only beautiful but relatively easy to walk through. Kamara used to be known for its craftsmen who worked with stone and it is because of their skills that this path, made of stone, is well preserved.
