Kastania

Kastania is a village near the city of Corfu, above the Lagoon of Chalikiopoulos where, the airport is located and near the village of Viros. Kastania is built at an altitude of about 50 meters and it offers, in some of its spots, a beautiful view of the city of Corfu and the Old Fortress.

Kastania is situated on the road Corfu – Achillion, at a distance of approximately 5 kilometers from the center of the city. The most significant sight of the region is of course, the Achillion, the Palace of the Empress of Austria Elizabeth (Sissy) which is built on the hilltop in the village of Gastouri .
