River of Messonghi

The River of Messonghi flows into one of the most touristic shores of the island between Messonghi beach and Moraitika beach. Essentially, it is the natural border between the resorts of Messonghi and of the neighboring village Moraitika. The region provides the perfect combination of natural beauty and tourism infrastructure in order to fulfill the needs even of the most demanding guests.

The old fishing village was named after the River of Messonghi, as its verdant banks and the fishing boats, which are tied to its estuaries, offer a unique character to the landscape. The river is navigable in its greatest part, mainly towards the sea.

Along with Potami, Tyflos  and the river of Lefkimmi, the River of Messonghi is one of the largest rivers of Corfu and one of the most popular.
