Agios Athanasios
Agios Athanasios is a traditional village, built on the road that leads from the city of Corfu to Sidari in the northern shores. In Agios Athanasios, just outside the village is situated the Monastery of Pantokratoras, built in the 17th century, on a hill and is surrounded by olive and cypress trees, on a verdant landscape.
The residents of Agios Athanassios, 300 approximately, are occupied with agricultural work, as their village has remained intact from tourism. The nearest, big village is Agros, which was until recently, the seat of the former Municipality of Agios Georgios. There you will find besides shops, public services, an ATM and pharmacies. Agios Athanasios is approximately 28 kilometers away from the city of Corfu.
