Kapodistrias Museum
There could not be missing from Corfu a museum dedicated to Ioannis Kapodistrias, the great politician and first governor of Greece. The Kapodistrias Museum was founded in 1981 at the initiative of the former mayor of the town of Corfu, Marias Desylla-Kapodistrias and is located in Koukouritsa, in the village Evropouloi of Corfu.
The entire estate and holiday home of the governor’s family now constitute the Kapodistrias Museum, in an idyllic region of the Corfiot countryside. Furniture of that era and significant personal items of this great personality are exhibited there where, visitors are informed about his turbulent life, the period of his governance but, also about the assassination and burial of Kapodistrias, at his homeland, in Corfu.
The Kapodistrias Museym operates daily, except Mondays.
