Kokkinogeia

Kokkinogeia is a sparsely populated settlement built in a verdant landscape near the crowded Glyfada  and above the beach with unique beauty, Myrtiotissa , in the western shores of the island. From the northern part of the settlement begins the largest lowland area of the whole island, the «Ropas Prairie», sown with crops and which extends almost to Palaiokastritsa in the northern part of the island. In Kokkinogeia there are a few touristy lodgings, mostly rentable apartments for tourists who like tranquility, isolation and of course excursions into nature because the region is ideal for hiking. Do not forget to visit the Monastery of Myrtidiotissa, a monastery of the 14th century which is located in a forest above the beach.
