Myrtiotissa

One of the most beautiful beaches in Europe is Myrtiotissa at a distance of 15 kilometers from the center of the city  of Corfu. Steep cliffs covered with pine trees which stretch almost vertically down to a beautiful, clear sea create the scenery on this idyllic beach. In the sea there are scattered rocks which you can explore with a mask. Myrtiotissa is unofficially the only nudist beach on the island. The nudists prefer the ends of the beach. In the center and on its narrow shore you will find many bathers wearing their swimsuits, even families with children. In Myrtiotissa beach there is a canteen selling the basics (water, coffee, refreshments). This is where you may find some deck-chairs.

Myrtiotissa was named after the monastery of Panagia Myrtidiotissa  which is located at a distance of 300 meters from the beach on the edge of a verdant cliff. Situated on a lovely spot filled with wild and natural beauty, away from civilization and crowds, Myrtiotissa attracts mostly those who prefer seclusion and tranquility. It is not easy to get to this beach. A dirt road slopes towards the beach, but we suggest that you leave your vehicle at the large parking lot in the middle of the route and walk for less than one kilometer. The road is so narrow that if two cars meet, it is very difficult to maneuver on such a steep ground.
