Mousata

Mousata are among the mountain of Enos, the great mountain of Kefalonia and the Ionian Sea, to the south. It is a village of the Municipal unit of Leivathos and has 318 residents, according to the 2011 census. It is located very close to Trapezaki, one of the best beaches of Kefalonia: beach with golden sand and clear blue waters in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Crossing the main road linking Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia, with Poros, the easternmost port, you will find Moussata in the 12th kilometer. The distance is 2 km from Vlahata of Livatho and 4 km from Peratata. From Moussata, you can visit the Castle of St. George and the Monastery Milapidias -where is kept part of the relics of the Apostle Andrew and has Ecclesiastical Museum with religious relics of great value.

Moussata had suffered serious damages from the earthquake of August 1953, which razed Kefalonia.
