Kalami beach

Kalami beach is a coast with round pebbles located 15 km east of Chania, in the south of the bay of Souda, near Megala Chorafia.

In the eastern part of Kalami beach the waters are deeper and there is a small port with local fishing boats. Although Kalami is not organized, it is particularly popular with the residents. You will only find some umbrellas on the beach and some trees to sit under their shade.

From the beach you can see the port of Souda and the Fortress. In the village of Kalami, located 500 meters from the sea, you will find some taverns, but there are few options for accommodation.

Near Kalami you will find the ancient Aptera and the Turkish fortresses,  Intzedin and Paleokastro.
