Notos

Notos is a seaside village, in the northern part of the island, as its name suggests which came from the surname Notos which is found in the region since 1505. In the village you can find a noble farmhouse belonging to the Theotokis family, also called «Varoneto Notou». The majority of the inhabitants in this settlement have the surname Vagias, by the expatriates Souliotes driven away by Ali Passas. The Souliotes arrived in Corfu during the years 1803-1804. Notos borders in the north with Petritis, the picturesque fishing village with its beach  and in the southwest with the village of Agios Nikolaos. Notos is about 33 kilometers way from the city  of Corfu.
