Tourkopodaro

The beach Tourkopodaro is located near to Argostoli, next to Makris and Platis Gialos, two of the most popular beaches of Kefalonia.

A legend explains how it got its name: once, a Turk passed by the point of riding the horse. Eventually, the horse stumbled and slid to the sea, thus creating a narrow strip of sand that ends in a cliff into the water!

This was Tourkopodaro, which until recently, the strip of sand sticking out of the sea. In recent years, the water covers it, but it is clearly visible in the water. The water is clean, crystal and blue, like in the other beaches of the area, Kamaroules and Gradakia.

The rest Tourkopodaro beach is sandy, with yellow, fine sand and is organized by the hotel located directly above. In order to reach to the beach, you must pass through its facilities.
